The Georgia probe into former President Donald Trump's alleged attempt to interfere with the 2020 election results has been far reaching. In January 2021, Trump reportedly called on Georgia's Secretary of State to "find" over 11,000 votes that he needed to win the Peach State. Since then, the investigation has grown to include Trump's associates and 'fake elector' scheme, claims of election worker harassment, and individuals seeking access to voting machines.

This past week, an insight into the special grand jury's findings was made public, revealing the the jurors had concerns that some of the 75 witnesses - including Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani, Senator Lindsey Graham, and Governor Brian Kemp - may have lied during their testimonies. However, the special grand jury is not authorized to bring charges, leaving that up to District Attorney Fani Willis, who may pursue a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (R

President Joe Biden made an announcement on Thursday expressing that the three unmanned aerial objects, shot down by the U.S. military over the weekend, are "most likely tied to private companies, recreation or research institutions," and were not connected to the Chinese surveillance balloon taken down on Feb. 4. This announcement comes after mounting pressure from both Democrats and Republicans in Congress to explain the spy balloon incident.

At a White House press briefing, Biden said the intelligence communities current assessment that the objects had no malicious intentions and that “nothing right now suggests they were related to China’s spy balloon program or that they were surveillance vehicles from any other country.” Additionally, Biden noted that the U.S. had seen no "sudden increase in the number of objects in the sky."

In a move to better address aerial objects, Biden has ordered his team create "

As the 2020 Election came to an end and results were being painstakingly verified, an intense battle between one of the nation's most infamous networks, Fox News, and election technology company Dominion Voting System, was just beginning. On Thursday, a court filing revealed damning messages between Fox News executives and stars in which they privately ridiculed and dismissed the former President Trump’s claims of election fraud.

The messages, between Fox News talent such as Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham, showed them slamming former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell. Carlson and Ingraham agreed that Powell was “lying” and “a complete nut” while Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corporation, and many more expressed their disbelief of Trump’s election lies. Murdoch even proposed an idea to have Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham appear on air together in prime time to

A Florida Amber Alert was issued late Thursday evening for 8-month-old Paradise Levy, who was reported missing in Orange Park. The baby was last seen wearing only a diaper, and may have been in the company of 46-year-old Terry Levy. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, as well as local law enforcement officials, have been in pursuit of the two ever since, worried for their safety.

Fortunately, the Clay County Sheriff's Office has now announced that the missing baby has been found safe. Her father, Terry Aries, is still at large, and deputies say he was last seen in Duval County wearing a pink long sleeve shirt and blue jean pants.

The Amber Alert has now been cancelled, and authorities are praising the local community and law enforcement officers who diligently chased after the suspect and his daughter. Local residents, as well as those outside the area, sent out information and answers

Researchers from the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration have uncovered alarming findings related to the melting of Antarctica's vast Thwaites Glacier. Named the Doomsday Glacier for its potential to cause a three-meter (9.8-foot) rise in global sea levels if it were to collapse, researchers were able to analyze its behavior with the help of an underwater robot vehicle (ROV) named Icefin. The two papers published in Nature journal on February 15 show that warmer water is penetrating into crevasses and other openings known as terraces, causing melting of over 30 meters (98 feet) per year.

Britney Schmidt, an associate professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University and lead author of one of the published papers states “Warm water is getting into the weakest parts of the glacier and making it worse. That is the kind of thing we should all be very

On Thursday, U.S. EPA Admistrator Michael Regan visited East Palestine, Ohio to assure the town's residents of their safety after a train derailment released toxins into the air and water. Regan began his remarks by thanking local first responders for their work in the aftermath of the crash.

"We hear you. We see you," Reagan said. "We will get to the bottom of this. All families need to know that they are safe, and all families deserve access to clean air and safe drinking water." The EPA has tested 500 homes and all air monitoring has revealed no quality issues. However, ongoing surface and groundwater testing is still being conducted by the Ohio EPA.

Regan also made sure to visit Kristina Ferguson's house, personally witnessing an air quality test. Individual water wells continue to be tested, and bottled water will be provided to well owners until

Senator John Fetterman, Democrat of Pennsylvania, checked himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Wednesday night to receive treatment for clinical depression. His chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, said in a statement that Mr. Fetterman had been experiencing depression off and on throughout his life, but had only become severe in recent weeks. Mr. Fetterman, 53, had previously been hospitalized last week after feeling lightheaded.

Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the attending physician in Congress, had recommended Mr. Fetterman bear inpatient care at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In the statement, Mr. Jentleson said that the doctors there had told him that Mr. Fetterman was receiving the care he needs and would soon be back to himself.

Senator Fetterman was elected in November of last year after suffering a near-

President Joe Biden spoke to the nation on Thursday regarding the recent shootdowns of flying objects in U.S. and Canadian airspace. After a suspected Chinese sky balloon was detected in North American airspace beginning January 28, and then taken down in South Carolina on February 4, three additional airborne objects were shot down days later.

The military responded through the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), which utilizes a network of satellites, ground-based radar, airborne radar and fighters to monitor and protect Canadian and U.S. airspace.

On Thursday, Biden assured Americans that the objects were "most likely tied to private companies, recreation or research institutions," and were not connected to a Chinese spy program. A White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre added that China's decision to levy sanctions against U.S. defense contractors was just an attempt to deflect and spin the incident.

The U.S. and Canadian governments partnered

The U.S. government is taking decisive action to respond to unidentified aerial objects after multiple such objects were shot down in recent weeks, President Joe Biden announced today. Through an interagency team, the administration is investigating the objects and their source, including a Chinese surveillance balloon that had been detected in American airspace.

The balloon was first noticed near Alaska on January 28, and shot down near South Carolina on February 4. In response to this, China placed retaliatory sanctions on several U.S. defense contractors. In his remarks today, President Biden noted that nothing so far suggests that the objects had any connection to Chinese surveillance or espionage efforts.

In addition to the Chinese balloon, three more objects have been shot down, but their origin is still unknown. The first, the size of a small car, was taken out over the Arctic Ocean on February 12. A second balloon-like object of similar

President Biden sent a pre-emptive warning to the Chinese government this week, voicing that there will be consequences for recent violations of US airspace by their military. In a press conference held on the White House's South Lawn, the President denounced the violation and emphasized the fact that the US military acted responsibly in shooting down the surveillance balloon.

Biden made it clear that American allies and Congress will be kept in the loop of any new information related to the three unidentified aerial objects that were also shot down. While the first object has been confirmed as a Chinese surveillance balloon, the President stressed that there is no clear evidence that the other three were related to any other nation’s programs. Though aliens have thankfully been ruled out, the White House is currently investigating other possibilities, such as private companies, recreational and research institutions.

The administration is also making moves to reduce the frequency of such objects by increasing the sensitivity

On Feb. 16, 2023, the Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta released portions of a grand jury report that investigated election interference in the Georgia 2020 presidential election. The report confirms that one or more of the witnesses in the investigation may have committed perjury.

The report also stated that the grand jury voted unanimously to reject arguments made by former President Donald J. Trump and his allies that widespread fraud had taken place in the election. The grand jury heard "extensive testimony on the subject of alleged election fraud".

The investigation has two key investigatory threads, the first being a plan to send an alternate slate of electors from states Mr. Trump lost, while the second was allegations of widespread voter fraud benefiting the President-elect Joe Biden in the battleground state of Georgia.

Judge Robert C.I. McBurney had previously ruled to release part of the grand jury's report, which though slim

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost enacted a notice of intent, claiming the state may pursue legal action against Norfolk Southern Railway in connection to a train derailment that occurred early this month in East Palestine, Ohio. The incident released hazardous materials into the surrounding areas, causing a nuisance, damage to natural resources and environmental harm.

U.S. EPA Administrator Michael Regan is scheduled to visit the area on Thursday and said he will be “holding Norfolk Southern accountable” for the crash. In a Feburary 10th letter, the EPA detailed their authority to hold the railway responsible and outlined cleanup actions.

In addition, U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio; JD Vance, R-Ohio; Bob Casey, D-Pennsylvania and John Fetterman, D-Pennsylvania have sent a letter to Regan expressing their concerns about the derailment, and the controlled

On Thursday, portions of the final report from a special grand jury investigating potential election interference by former President Donald J. Trump and his allies were released by Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta. According to Judge Robert C.I. McBurney's order, the released sections include the report's introduction and conclusion, as well as a section detailing jurors' concerns that some witnesses may have lied under oath during their testimony.

The investigation by the special grand jury began shortly after the 2020 election and focused on two key threads: a plan to send an alternate slate of electors from states Trump lost - including Georgia - and issues surrounding the administration of the election itself.

Specific details about who, exactly, was implicated in the investigation remain scarce as the full report has not yet been released. However, the portion that was shared shows that the jury voted unanimously "that no widespread fraud took place in the Georgia

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio were left seething after representatives from Norfolk Southern railway (NSR) failed to show up to a local town meeting meant to address the environmental aftermath of a train derailment earlier this month. On February 6th, a NSR train carrying toxic chemicals derailed, prompting a controlled release of vinyl chloride and causing a large-scale fire. Thick plumes of black smoke towered over the town, but officials assured locals that the process was proceeding as planned.

Despite such endorsements, the thousands of fish that have been found dead in local creeks, along with reports of chickens dying and pets falling ill, demonstrates the fear and mistrust among locals over the response to the disaster. At the town meeting, held in a local high school gymnasium, people were heard shouting and cursing at the officials while demanding answers. One resident, Jaime Cozza, vocalized the feelings of many when

On Monday, three Michigan State University students were fatally shot and five others were wounded. The shooter then killed himself. As mass shootings have become a disturbingly commonplace event in the United States, news of this tragedy has shocked many. What follows, however, will be all too familiar.

After Patrick H. Sherrill opened fire in an Oklahoma post office in 1986, the phrase "going postal" became an ounce-of-prevention joke, meant to warn those inclined to violence that the consequences of his actions remained on the public conscience.

But in the five decades since Sherrill's murderous rampage, a very dull ax has been slowly cleaving away at the Bill of Rights. Today, we forget about anniversaries of these tragedies with a regularity that would be disturbing if it wasn't to be expected. Mass shootings are no longer a thing to be surprised by, but just a regular

Residents of East Palestine, Ohio were outraged on Wednesday night as they gathered in a school gym to demand answers from the railroad company responsible for a recent train derailment that released hazardous chemicals. Hundreds of Ohioans showed up to the High School, hoping to learn more about the environment and health risk the incident could have caused.

The meeting had been billed as an informational one with representatives from the state, county, and local agencies, but the officials from the railroad company, Norfolk Southern, did not attend. This infuriated many residents, who wanted answers about the containment of the chemicals and the long-term health risks facing the community. Linda Murphy, 49, brought up the growing concern about dead fish being found in the nearby creek, and the smell of chemicals that lingers in the air.

Governor Mike DeWine has made increased efforts to protect the community from the incident, including issuing tests to

On Monday night, a gunman opened fire on the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, killing three students and injuring several more. Scared students ran from classrooms, barricading doors with furniture and jumping out of windows as 911 calls poured in. Tragically, this is becoming an all-too-familiar American issue.

The shooter has now been identified as a 22-year-old student, Anthony McRae. It is not currently known what his motive was or if the weapon used was the same one he was previously arrested for carrying without a permit.

Victims' families, and the families of others who lived through the terrifying event, are left to grapple with incomprehensible pain. One father, Michael McRae, said his son was "angry and bitter, evil angry" after his mother died, and questioned if his son had acquired another gun without his knowledge. Another father, Matt Riddle

Today, tragedy struck the El Paso community as a shooting at Cielo Vista Mall left one person dead and three others injured. El Paso Fire Department responded to the scene to treat the wounded and help police investigate. Sgt. Robert Gomez of the El Paso Police Department (EPPD) stated they had one suspect in custody, and they “believe there could be one outstanding.” Terrifyingly, Rober Gonzales, who was in the mall at the time, spoke of “people running to the exit” in fear of their lives. Understandably, the shooting evoked memories of a past tragedy in the El Paso community—the mass shooting at a Walmart in 2019 that left 23 people dead.

In light of the shooting, EPPD asked people to avoid the area while “multiple agencies responded to the scene.” Bishop Mark J. Seitz and Auxiliary Bishop-Elect

On February 15th, the race for the Premier League title will become a little clearer. Arsenal will take on Manchester City in a thrilling mid-week clash at the Emirates Stadium. The two teams are engaged in a tight battle for the league title, with Mikel Arteta looking to capture his maiden championship as a manager. But standing in his way is his former boss, Pep Guardiola, who has a wealth of league titles under his belt.

The game is being broadcast live on Amazon Prime in the UK, and Peacock in the US. Additionally, it's an odd timing for the match to be occurring with the Champions League round of 16 firmly underway. However, reality dictated the scheduling change. The original match had to be cancelled as a result of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The rearranged date was selected after UEFA asked the Premier League to postpone the fixture to

Dozens of Michigan State University (MSU) students accompanied by parents, friends, and FBI agents returned to the student union Wednesday, forced to relive the harrowing trauma of the nation's most recent mass shooting. The night before, students had rushed out of the building after shots rang out, leaving behind personal belongings in their rush to safety.

Connor Dunn, an 18-year-old mechanical engineering student who was in the food court when the shooting started, remembered thinking the sound had been a dropped tray. When he heard the second and third shots, however, he realized something was wrong and quickly ran outside. Andrew Strominger, another sophomore who was working in the food court, ran out a back door to Campbell Hall and stayed there until law enforcement arrived.

The tragedy left three MSU students dead: Alexandria Verner of Clawson, Michigan; Brian Fraser of Grosse Point

On Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry accused the United States of sending high altitude balloons into its airspace on round-the-world flights without permission. This accusation was made in response to an incident earlier this month when the US Military shot down a balloon they said was a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina. China however counter argued that its balloon was actually a civilian research vessel mistakenly blown off course by strong winds.

The US White House flatly denied China’s claims and US intelligence officials are currently assessing the possibilities of the balloon being diverted off course or potentially deliberately maneuvered into the continental US. China however maintains that it had some ability to maneuver the balloon once it was over Montana and believes it was used to collect intelligence.

The diplomatic dispute between China and the US has been reignited and tensions are growing as both countries accuse each other of espionage. With students around the US discussing the shoot
