President Biden Fires Warning Shot at China Ahead of Discussion

President Biden sent a pre-emptive warning to the Chinese government this week, voicing that there will be consequences for recent violations of US airspace by their military. In a press conference held on the White House's South Lawn, the President denounced the violation and emphasized the fact that the US military acted responsibly in shooting down the surveillance balloon.

Biden made it clear that American allies and Congress will be kept in the loop of any new information related to the three unidentified aerial objects that were also shot down. While the first object has been confirmed as a Chinese surveillance balloon, the President stressed that there is no clear evidence that the other three were related to any other nation’s programs. Though aliens have thankfully been ruled out, the White House is currently investigating other possibilities, such as private companies, recreational and research institutions.

The administration is also making moves to reduce the frequency of such objects by increasing the sensitivity
