On Super Bowl Sunday, gathering around the big screen doesn't have to just involve beer and chips anymore. According to Food Network star and celebrity chef, Guy Fieri, the perfect sliders for game-time snacking involves 80-20 lean-to-fat ratio for meat and chuck brisket short rib mix for a juicy, flavorful slider. With the right burger blend and some of Fieri's recipes, this year’s Super Bowl will prove to be the tastiest one yet.
Fieri, host of the shows "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" and "Guy's Grocery Games," told the Daily Meal that 80-20 should be the go-to lean-to-fat ratio for tasty sliders. He also suggested chuck brisket short rib mix to guarantee that the sliders won't be dry. Beef not the only thing on the table? Fieri also has a special Nacho Average Torta Slider recipe with a company called King's Hawaiian. The mini nacho sandwiches are sure to make any game-day spread one to remember.

Rescue workers in Turkey have been working around the clock to find survivors amid the rubble following a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck both Turkey and Syria last week. Their efforts were rewarded today as they miraculously found 70-year-old Menekse Tabak alive after 121 hours trapped under the destruction. Her rescue comes shortly after a 16-year-old boy was also pulled from the wreckage of the same region.
The quake has been the deadliest the country has seen in over 80 years with an official death toll of 20,665 as of now. The United Nations has warned that the search and rescue window is closing and the “probability of finding survivors under the rubble in below freezing temperatures is becoming a lower probability.” This, along with fatigue from all of the rescue teams, further raises the urgency in the search for any survivors.

On Friday, the Defense Department tracked and destroyed a small, unidentified object flying in U.S. airspace over Alaska. The object was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and posed a serious threat to civilian flight. Concerns over national security remain as the origin, capabilities, purpose and even the exact nature of the object are unknown.
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) spoke out on the incident, noting that it highlights the insecurity of the nation's airspace. The mysterious object is much smaller than the Chinese spy balloon shot down the previous Monday, but experts warn that the current situation could lead to a further deterioration of foreign relations with China.
Despite the ambiguity of the situation, the University of Denver's Director of the Center for China-U.S. Cooperation, Suisheng Zhao, noted that this type of encounter is common between powerful nations. Moving forward,
On Tuesday, February 7, Al Hilal stunned the crowd in Tangiers, Morocco to defeat the Brazilian side Flamengo 3-2 in the semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup. The Saudi Arabian team, powered by World Cup hero Salem Al-Dawsari’s two penalty goals, will now face the winner of Wednesday's semi-final match between Real Madrid and Al Ahly of Egypt on Saturday.
The match began with a quick penalty in the fourth minute of play, when Flamengo right-back Matheuzinho felled Luciano Vietto. Al-Dawsari made no mistake in dispatching the penalty for a 1-0 lead. Just over a quarter of an hour later, Pedro leveled the score for Flamengo. Al-Dawsari slotted his second penalty nine minutes in extra time after Vietto was tripped by former Marseille midfielder Gerson,
Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti has spoken out against the hate attacks against Vinicius Junior, a Brazilian forward and one of the Black players of Spanish football. Since his arrival in Spain in 2018, he has been subject to racism, both on and off the field, most recently in a game against Mallorca. Last month, a bridge in Madrid bore a hung up effigy of him before the Madrid-Atletico derby. Calling it a "problem of Spanish football," Ancelotti believes not only that this issue needs to be addressed, but that Vinicius is unfairly being made the face of it.
Vinicius' teammates are also standing up for him. Federico Valverde has praised him for the values he holds and his joyous attitude on the field. The team has also noticed the high number of fouls Vinicius receives each game
On Friday afternoon, the US military shot down an unidentified object flying at a high altitude of 40,000 feet over Alaska. The object was about the size of a small car and moving at speeds between 20 and 40 mph before it was targeted. While the US government has declared the takedown of the object “a success”, few details about the nature of the mysterious flying object have been disclosed.
The sudden presence of the unknown object was first detected by American radar around 9pm on Thursday evening. Acting out of “abundance of caution”, the airspace over Alaska was briefly closed down and the object was eventually targeted by an American F-22 fighter around 1:45pm ET Friday afternoon.
This incident follows Monday’s order from President Joe Biden to the Pentagon to take down a high-altitude balloon near the Atlantic Ocean, the origin of which was revealed to be
An alarming accusation has surfaced within the last week claiming that Chinese surveillance balloons hovered over the continental United States at least three times during the Trump Administration, and one more time during the start of the Biden Administration, according to a senior Pentagon official. Such revelations have caused high levels of frustration and confusion among those who held office during the Trump Administration.
Analystpuzzlement has been especially high among former Trump Administration National Security Council staffers, one of whom, Keith Kellogg, expressed his dismay in having been “in the Administration for every single day that Trump was in office on the national security team” and not having been informed of the balloon sightings. Mark Esper, who served as Defense Secretary from July 2019 to November 2020, also expressed confusion on being unaware of Chinese spy balloons hovering over the United States.

On February 11th, 2023, a massive earthquake struck the border of Turkey and Syria, leaving a trail of destruction and the loss of over 25,250 lives in its wake. Hospitals and clinics that were attempting to support survivors of the disaster were quickly overwhelmed and exhausted.
Residents of the unaffected cities came together with the spirit of unity to bring in donations of food, water and other resources to lend a helping hand to those that lost their homes. In Turkey, people braved hazardous roads while private hazmat teams stepped out of the shadows aided in the massive clean-up operation.
In Jinderis, an isolated rebel-held enclave surrounded by the Turkish backed forces, there was a complete absence of international crews and aid workers. The once vibrant town is now reduced to piles of rubble and several bodies have been recovered, but hundreds more are missing and the
Tottenham Hotspur faced Leicester City on Saturday in a Premier League matchup at the King Power Stadium. With Hugo Lloris injured and Antonio Conte back coaching after gall bladder surgery, Tottenham had some changes in their starting XI. While Ivan Perisic scored the opening goal for Tottenham, Leicester City responded with three consecutive goals from Nampalys Mendy, James Maddison, and Kelechi Iheanacho. Despite a few chances from Harry Kane and Dele Alli, Leicester sealed the win with a goal from Harvey Barnes.
After the game, Conte's assistant Cristian Stellini held a press conference with Tottenham correspondent Alasdair Gold. Stellini attributed the loss to Leicester’s sharpness and strong start, although Tottenham showed promising opportunities for the upcoming Champions League tie against AC Milan. With Tottenham’s recent downturn in form, Stellini is looking forward
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich prepare for an intense battle for Champions League advancement this Tuesday. With a number of absences on both sides due to injury, the outcome of the highly anticipated face off is anything but certain.
PSG is already weakened by injury heading into the match - Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi's absences have caused concern. PSG alum Edouard Cisse commented, saying: "When they get bumped into, nobody really responds. It's always the same thing: if they can play at their pace, there's no problem. As soon as the opposing team puts us the intensity, they are lost.”
On the Bayern side, Manuel Neuer, Lucas Hernandez, Noussair Mazraoui, and Sadio Mane are all set to miss the match. This means that their substitutes may have to step
On Friday afternoon, the U.S. military shot down an unmanned "high-altitude object" over Alaskan airspace and Arctic waters near the Canadian border. According to National Security Council official John Kirby, the object, which was flying at 40,000 feet, posed a reasonably threat to the safety of civilian flight, prompting President Biden to order the military to take it down.
Armed fighters assigned to the U.S. Northern Command were able to confirm that the object was unmanned prior to shooting it down. The Pentagon is expected to provide a briefing regarding the situation at 3 p.m. ET.
Right now, the United States is unsure as to who owns the object. Kirby stated: 'We're calling this an object because that's the best description we have right now. We do not know who owns it, whether it's
Saturday will see West Ham United host London rivals Chelsea in a huge match for both teams. West Ham’s struggles this season have resulted in them being eighteenth on the points table and in a fierce battle for survival. Although there’s been signs of improvement, they are still desperate for points. Chelsea, although just two points ahead, have been abysmal in the league. The Blues have won just two of their last twelve and the market has adjusted their totals downward to 2.25, presenting a good opportunity for their attack which has been showing signs of life lately.
Chelsea will have Joao Felix back in the lineup with the potential to provide an upgrade to Kai Havertz. Additionally, they have Reece James back in the starting XI and his ball progression, shot production and ability to get his body into the penalty area has made many claim him as the side’s most important
In an unexpected twist in the ongoing investigation surrounding the chaotic events of January 6th, Mike Pence appeared to have thrown a wrench in the case. The speech Mike Pence was due to deliver to lawmakers on January 6th, which was interrupted by a rogue mob of insurgents, was expected to be pivotal to his testimony.
However, in a letter to the special counsel, Pence revealed that he had been forbidden from testifying by none other than his own mother, known only as "Mother". It is believed that this "Mother" referred to is in fact his wife Karen Pence, who has been described as "hopping mad" when she heard that Pence had received a subpoena.
The letter revealed that Mother had told Pence "What if you're interrogated by a woman lawyer and you're alone in a room with her? Women are lawyers nowadays." Further,
The US has launched an unarmed missile test in the Pacific Ocean, an unmistakable sign of strength in the face of recent escalations with China and North Korea. On Thursday night at 11:01pm, the Air Force Global Strike Command conducted an operational test launch of a Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The launch followed the shooting down of a Chinese spy balloon off the coast of South Carolina. The balloon, linked to a Chinese military surveillance program, had traveled across the continental United States before it was taken down. American intelligence believes the balloon was 'likely capable of collecting' American communications.
The US missile test was designed to demonstrate the nation's nuclear deterrence and accuracy of its weapon system while sending 'a visible message of assurance to allies', according to Air Force Global Strike Command Commander General Thomas A. Bussiere. The re-entry vehicle
The death toll from the Monday’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria has now surpassed 20,000 and continues to rise. Though the outpouring of support from people around the world transcends national boundaries, the politics of disaster recovery, with its slow churn of bureaucracy, is getting in the way of saving lives. The need for international aid and understanding is dire, particularly in an area already devastated by civil war and where the Syrian dictator uses humanitarian aid as a bargaining chip.
In a visit Wednesday to an area where entire blocks have disappeared, Turkish President Recep Erdogan acknowledged "some issues" with the response and transportation and promised that all those made homeless will have new housing within a year. He also declared a national state of emergency and deployed federal troops, yet this is not enough to make up for regional fuel shortages, lack of trained local rescue teams, and what people inside Turkey are calling a slow governmental

Early Friday morning, the US military responded to a 'high-altitude object' hovering over Alaskan airspace. The unidentified flying object was tracked at an altitude of 40,000 feet and National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated it posed a potential risk to civilian flights. President Biden gave the go-ahead for the military to take it down, and fighter aircrafts were assigned to the US Northern Command for this purpose.
This is the second time in a week US fighter jets had to intercept a similar object. Last week, a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon launched into US airspace and was eventually shot down in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of the Carolinas. President Biden and his administration have been under fire from Republicans for taking so long to take down the first suspect.
This time, the object was shot down near the Canadian border in the frozen Arctic Ocean. It was unclear who or what the object belonged
On Friday, the Pentagon took down an unidentified object in US airspace over Alaska at President Joe Biden's request. After a Chinese spy balloon infiltrated American airspace last week, the Pentagon is taking no chances. According to the Pentagon, the object was flying at 40,000 feet, the same altitude as the Chinese balloon, and posed a threat to civilian flight. The object was roughly the size of a small car, much smaller than the balloon, but officials could not be sure if there was any surveillance equipment on board.
Brigadier General Pat Ryder of the Pentagon confirmed this news and said that the US Northern Command, Alaska Air National Guard, FAA and FBI are now in recovery mode. White House spokesman John Kirby also addressed the press, noting that out of an abundance of caution, Biden had decided to order the object shot down. He emphasized that a fighter jet had carried out the task.

On Friday, the US military shot down an unidentified object over the skies of Alaska at the order of President Biden. White House spokesman John Kirby confirmed the incident and stated that the President had acted "out of an abundance of caution."
The Pentagon has not been able to confirm whether or not the object, roughly the size of a small car, was a balloon but were certain it was a potential threat to civilian aircraft while traveling at an altitude of 40,000 feet. U.S. officials assert that there were "no affirmative indications of a military threat" to the ground nearby and they were unsure if it held any surveillance equipment.
The untimely incident occurs only a week after a U.S. fighter jet had shot down a Chinese spy balloon that had crossed the United States. Despite the lack of confirmation that the two were connected, the White House has made it known that the President is willing to take whatever action
The Dallas Mavericks pulled within one game of the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference standings following a 122-114 victory in Sacramento. Despite missing their star player Luka Doncic, the Mavericks' defense was able to shut down the Kings, forcing them to commit multiple turnovers and preventing them from getting any easy looks.
The Mavericks took control of the game early, going off for 45 points in the opening quarter, the most they've scored in a quarter in the 2022-23 season. Dallas shot 64.3% from the field and 53.8% from deep, while the Kings shot 42.1% from the field and 14.3% from three. The Mavericks had eight second-chance points, while the Kings only had two.
De'Aaron Fox kept the Kings alive, scoring 33 points and six rebounds, along with five assists. He was named an NBA All-Star
Roseanne Barr is no stranger to controversy, and her latest grievance aired with the Los Angeles Times shows that the former sitcom star has still got something to say almost three years after being fired from the ABC show bearing her own name. Ahead of her upcoming standup special, Roseanne Barr: Cancel This!, the comedian reprimanded the entertainment industry for its double standard of punishment when it comes to her, comparing her exile to that of other comedy stars Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K.
“They didn’t do it to anyone else in Hollywood, although they always throw in Dave Chappelle and Louis C.K,” Barr told the LA Times. “Well, Louis C.K. did lose everything, but he committed an actual [offense]. And Dave Chappelle was protected by Netflix. I’m the only person who’s
New Mexico State announced Friday night that the university has suspended the operations of their men's basketball program and placed the coaching staff on paid administrative leave "until further notice." This comes as the school is being informed of new allegations that involve possible violations of university policy entirely separate from the events that happened in Albuquerque late last year.
Sources are indicating that the allegations are related to hazing, and a police report was filed on the issue which prompted the university's action.
In November, a New Mexico State player, Mike Peake, was hospitalized after a shooting on the University of New Mexico's campus the night before the two rivals were scheduled to play. Peake was suspended for his role in the incident, which left a New Mexico student dead.
New Mexico State's Board of Regents have released a statement saying they support the suspension and are confident a full and thorough investigation will be conducted.
The FBI is currently searching the home of former Vice President Mike Pence in Indiana, according to a source familiar with the situation. The purpose of the search remains unclear, but it comes shortly after Pence was subpoenaed by special counsel Jack Smith, who is examining possible ties between former President Donald Trump and the insurrection of January 6, 2021.
A team of Pence's private attorneys are currently at the home in Indiana and speaking with the FBI during their visit. Additionally, the FBI is scheduled to search is office in Washington, DC, in the coming days.
Pence has acknowledged that "mistakes were made," and assured the FBI that he will cooperate. To prevent the occurrence of such mistakes, he and his team conducted an "extensive search" to ensure all documents found in his home and office were in compliance with regulations—which they believed to be the case prior to the FBI search.
On the other hand,
The FBI is searching former Vice President Mike Pence’s home in Indiana for classified documents, according to a source “familiar with the matter” and an anonymous Justice Department official. This consensual search follows the disclosure by Pence’s representatives of the National Archives and Records Administration last month that documents bearing classified markings had “inadvertently” been boxed up and found in the former Vice President’s home.
The investigation comes after former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden both faced probes by the US Department of Justice into the improper handling of classified materials. Trump was involved in a controversial FBI raid in Mar-a-Lago last summer, while Biden is facing an investigation involving documents from his time as Vice President.
The search of Pence’s home is being conducted by FBI agents from Indianapolis and is not related to those other investigations. Pence was away
