FBI Search Former Vice President Mike Pence's Home

The FBI is currently searching the home of former Vice President Mike Pence in Indiana, according to a source familiar with the situation. The purpose of the search remains unclear, but it comes shortly after Pence was subpoenaed by special counsel Jack Smith, who is examining possible ties between former President Donald Trump and the insurrection of January 6, 2021.

A team of Pence's private attorneys are currently at the home in Indiana and speaking with the FBI during their visit. Additionally, the FBI is scheduled to search is office in Washington, DC, in the coming days.

Pence has acknowledged that "mistakes were made," and assured the FBI that he will cooperate. To prevent the occurrence of such mistakes, he and his team conducted an "extensive search" to ensure all documents found in his home and office were in compliance with regulations—which they believed to be the case prior to the FBI search.
