It was a promising matchup between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets that was supposed to easily be the game of the night. With Kevin Durant and Ben Simmons out for the Nets and the two best players on the Celtics, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, both healthy, it seemed inevitable that the game could get out of hand. Sure enough, the Celtics ended up being 8-point home favorites with a 19-6 home record, leading the league-wide 36-15 overall.
Kyrie Irving was tasked with trying to keep the game competitive on his own but was met with the Celtics' strong defense. Brooklyn has had difficulty playing without Durant, having a 5-6 record and a 119.0 Defensive Rating, down from 112.4 when he was playing.
The first quarter ended in Boston's favor with a 46-16 lead, the biggest first quarter lead in Celtics history and the second-worst quarter for
The Trail Blazers have been dealt a tough blow as Jusuf Nurkic was ruled out for the rest of Wednesday's game against the Jazz due to calf soreness. Nurkic had been having a great night, scoring 17 points and securing 5 rebounds in 33 minutes of play. Unfortunately, his night ended abruptly as he left the game in the third period and did not return, leaving the Trail Blazers short-handed.
In Nurkic's absence, Drew Eubanks and Trendon Watford are likely to receive the majority of his vacated minutes on the floor. As it stands, the Trail Blazers' star center will
Real Betis will be hoping to rebound after three straight losses when they take on Getafe on Saturday in a La Liga match previewed by Sports Mole. The last time the two teams met was in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, which Real Betis lost on penalties. This situation speaks to Real Betis' current fortunes, which have the team sixth in the table with 28 points from 17 matches, just three points behind Atletico Madrid. Meanwhile, Getafe are currently 16th in the table, with only nine points from nine home games, pushing the team close to the relegation zone.
While Getafe gave a good account of themselves against Barcelona, it ultimately ended in defeat and has led to four successive losses for coach Quique Sanchez Flores. This includes defeats in the league against Sevilla, Espanyol and Barcelona, as well as a 3-2 loss to Levante in the Copa del
Robert Lewandowski, the most popular new signing to Barcelona last summer, is a 34-year-old veteran of the football world. His impressive career with both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich was quite the feat, where he accumulated 531 goals in 700 games. This season, he has continued his dominance with 22 goals in 24 games across competitions at Barcelona.
While Lewandowski is an accomplished and talented player, another major component to his success is attributed to his diet carefully planned out by his wife, Anna Maria Lewandowska, a nutritionist. The couple follows a strict diet that avoids combining proteins with carbs, abstaining from sugar and dairy, and eating dessert first. Additionally, without preservatives and cooking with only the best quality products plus various supplements, the Polish forward is amongst the elite.
Unfortunately, however, his success has been somewhat limited when playing alongside Barcelona
Kai Havertz has been a polarising figure since his 2020 transfer to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 29 goals in 118 appearances for the London club. Despite this, his performances have left something to be desired, particularly those in the Premier League. His decisive goal in last season's Champions League final, however, has saved him from utter infamy.
According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich have Havertz on their "list" of transfer targets and are "watching" the forward's situation at Stamford Bridge. If they make a move, it's said they'll make an offer of between €40-€60m (PS35

As February quickly approaches, Ohio University is gearing up for a month of celebration. Black History Month is celebrated every February in the United States to recognize the achievements of African Americans throughout history and in the present day. The origins of Black History Month date back to 1926 when historian Carter G. Woodson created the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. His goal was to recognize the many contributions of the African American community.
In the second week of February, Woodson organized an event called "Negro History Week". This celebration coincided with the birthdays of both President Abraham Lincoln and abolitionist Frederick Douglass, two men Woodson believed represented freedom for Black Americans. Over the years, educators and activists expanded the week into a month long celebration.
Ohio University is joining in nationwide efforts to celebrate Black History Month. The Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Multicultural Center have planned a
As part of the observance of this year’s African American History Month, citizens in Detroit and Pullman, Washington are celebrating the strength and resilience of Africans, African-Americans, and people of African descent by providing the public with multi-faceted educational experiences.
In Pullman, Washington, an event titled “Eddie’s Brooks Tapes” will feature a stage production, reading of oral narratives from pre-1960’s Mississippi. Through these stories, listeners will submerge themselves in the daily life of African-Americans and gain a better understanding of the historic oppression they faced and the role they played in the Civil Rights Movement.
Back in Detroit, the Create Gallery at the Milwaukee Area Technical College opened their exhibition, “Magical Black Tears: A Protest Story”, with the mission to spark dialogue and generate

The Rio Grande Valley is home to a diverse and culturally rich community, but the Black population within the region was almost non-existent when Aje-Ori Agbese moved to the area in 2006. Over the years, Agbese noticed Valley restaurants and businesses adapting to changing demographics. However, a common struggle among the Black community still remained: the lack of experienced Black hairdressers. Agbese and other Black women have been forced to self-teach and rely on each other for hair care services.
In response to this problem, the Valley is now filled with a number of Black barbers and hairstylists, including Donald Quailes, owner of D & L Beauty and Barbershop in Pharr, who has been in business since the nineties. Moreover, professional barbers are increasing efforts to learn how to work with different hair textures. One student athlete, Jalyn Williams, and his teammates often do each other's hair. Meesh Duru, founder of Dread House, is a loctician who specializes in dreadlocks.
These new developments support The Africa Channel’s celebration and acknowledgement of Black ambition,
The Indiana Hoosiers achieved a hard-fought victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Wednesday night at the Williams Arena in Minneapolis. Without their leading scorer Dawson Garcia and backup forward Pharrel Payne due to injury, the Golden Gophers were already facing an uphill battle. When Indiana’s own coach Mike Woodson was ruled out due to COVID-19, it seemed to tip the scales in Minnesota’s favor. However, Trayce Jackson-Davis proved to be the game changer.
The showdown between the two teams began slowly as both sides struggled to find a foothold. With 12:40 left in the second half, Jackson-Davis had his first drive of the night, a layup that gave the Hoosiers a 47-40 lead. Harsh defense from both sides saw a 7-0 run by Minnesota followed by a dunk from Jackson-Davis that returned the lead to Indiana
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, two of Hollywood's most notorious and beloved actors, have officially announced their reunion in the long-awaited fourth film in the Bad Boys franchise. After the immediate success of the 2020 movie Bad Boys for Life, which grossed $426 million worldwide, the duo and Sony Pictures have officially put the sequel into early pre-production.
The news was announced on Tuesday in an Instagram video of the two actors side by side with Smith quipping, “It’s about that time!” The development of the next movie had been in question after Smith notoriously slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards last March, but Sony chief Tom Rothman disputes those rumors, calling Smith a good person, simply having "a very bad moment in front of the world."
Returning for the sequel will be producers Jerry Bruckheimer and Doug Belgrad, as well as Chad Oman and Smith’
New Mexico State University (NMSU) has failed to get the desired result in their first nine WAC matches. The 0-9 start, their first since the 1954-55 Border Athletic Conference season, has put their season at a crossroads. Meanwhile, Stephen F. Austin (SFA) has been impressing this season and currently holds a record of 15-7 and is top of the WAC standings with a record of 7-2. The Lumberjacks boast the No.1 team in turnover average and steals per game, and Latrell Jossell and Nigel Hawkins each average more than 10 points per game.
Still, NMSU are looking to their offensive firepower to get them the win. Jamal Mashburn Jr. has been cooking lately and averages 23.5 points, the second highest in the nation for jumpers made off the dribble. The

Freshman guard Cason Wallace knows that Kansas will have plenty of motivation coming into Saturday's game, saying, “We know that they're going to come in and fight as hard as they can. They're going to play together and they're going to try to take our heads off." At 14-6 on the season, the Cats have won four of their past five, thanks in part to an effective lineup featuring Wallace at the point, with CJ Fredrick
