Broadway Perspectives Celebrates Black History Month

Asbury Park, NJ will celebrate Black History Month with a special one night only event celebrating Broadway diversity and iconic musical performances. Sponsored by New York Casting Director and Producer Stephen DeAngelis, “Broadway Perspectives: A Concert Celebrating Diversity” will showcase six Broadway artists of color. Major Attaway, LaVon Fisher-Wilson, Medda Larkin, Brennyn Lark, Jelian Remy and Kissy Simmons will recreate memorable musical performances, honor the icons that came before them, and share personal stories that enrich their narrative.

The audience will be treated to musical performances from Six The Musical; Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations; The Lion King; Aladdin; Hamilton; Chicago; Dreamgirls; Smokey Joe's Cafe; Les Miserables; Ain't Misbehavin' : Hairspray; Ragtime; The Wiz; Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill; Eubie, and more. The event will also feature an enlightening Q&A session for audience members of all ages.

In addition to the performance, The ShowRoom Cinema will screen the classic film The Color Purple
