The first quake’s epicenter was approximately 10 miles south of Malibu and 9 miles deep. Reports from the USGS Shake Alert system found the earthquake was felt throughout Los Angeles and beyond. The National Weather Service has not issued a warning for tsunami activity.

Los Angeles Fire Department Nicholas Prange said all 106 neighborhood fire stations are conducting a strategic survey around their districts, including transportation infrastructures, large places of assemblage, apartment buildings and power-lines.

Celebrities such as Chance The Rapper, Josh Gad and ICY GRL took to Twitter to report the shake. “That earthquake” ICY GRL posted, accompanied by a hiding-behind-hands emoji. Others described the experience on social media. One Twitter user wrote, “You know you’re a Californian when you’re sitting in your bed waiting for it to get worse while you scroll and sip tea.”

At the time of reporting, there have been no initial reports of injuries or damage in the region. California and Nevada are hit with an average of 25 earthquakes of magnitudes 4.0 to 5.0 each year, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Just two years after Jeff Bezos' divorce from MacKenzie Scott, Lauren Sanchez is sharing insight into her relationship with the billionaire Amazon founder and announcing big plans for the future.

In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sanchez inspired many as she detailed her upcoming space mission with an all-female crew, which she plans to launch by early 2024.

"We love to be together and work together," Sanchez explained. "We fly together. We work out together. We're together all the time."

Sanchez went on to detail their humorous relationship, explaining, "He's really funny. He makes me laugh all the time. He can be goofy. When I first heard his laugh, I was like, ‘Whoa! What is that?’ Now I love it."

But Bezos' Sunday mornings have a more down-to-earth tone. For years he has made "the best pancakes in the world," according to Sanchez.

Bezos is encouraging of Sanchez and excited to follow the footsteps he has taken on Blue Origin's New Shepard suborbital spaceship. "Fly fast; take chances," has become Bezos' motto.

The identities of Sanchez's five crewmates will remain hidden until nearer to the launch date. "I'm super-excited about it. And a little nervous," Sanchez said.

Together Sanchez and Bezos are also coupling their philanthropic goals and working on ways to make an impact in the world.
