Wynonna Judd is set to perform at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, which will air live on CBS from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. This will be the first time she performs at the event since her and her mother's iconic final performance at last year's show, just weeks before Naomi Judd passed away. For her return to the stage, Wynonna will team up with Ashley McBryde for their debut television performance. The two recently kicked off the 2023 leg of The Judds: The Final Tour, which also included Brandi Carlile, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town and Tanya Tucker for select dates.
At the 2022 CMT Awards, Naomi and Wynonna wowed the audience with "Love Can Build a Bridge". Just three weeks after that performance, Naomi died at the age of 76. Fans were left wondering if Wynonna would perform a touching tribute to her late mother, and their wish was granted. During the emotional cover of Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is," Wynonna paid tribute to Naomi, saying, "Mama, you should be here tonight. I miss you. And I love you." Wynonna and her mother were a part of the musical duo The Judds, and the 58-year-old honored her late mother with a final tour under The Judds name to celebrate their musical legacy.
