Tragedy Strikes Michigan State University, Response from Politicians Sparks Controversy

On Monday night, tragedy struck Michigan State University as a shooting left three students dead and five more injured. Fear and chaos filled the engineering building as students sought out a place to hide and go through active shooter drills they had learned as a part of growing up. In the midst of the tragedy, some of the most prominent Democratic politicians in Michigan made divisive and controversial remarks aimed at attacking their political opponents.

Katie Birecki, a 2020 Michigan State graduate, was heartbroken to see the school she loves so much now be a crime scene.
