Barcelona are reportedly preparing to start negotiations with Ousmane Dembele over a new long-term deal. Following a two year extension with the Catalan's last summer, the 25-year-old is now entering the final 18 months of his agreement and is believed to be keen to sign a longer-term agreement to remain at Camp Nou.
The France international, who has scored eight goals and registered seven assists, is currently on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, with a recent report claiming that he is unlikely to be back until the middle or end of March. Barcelona's boss Xavi has expressed his hope for Dembele to stay at the club "for many years", and the club's president Joan Laporta recently added "Dembele is happy and so are we. He is an important player."
