The Genesis X Convertible concept is set to enter production, transforming the Hyundai-owned premium car brand’s lineup with a sleek and luxurious convertible. After making its debut at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, the car is finally being made available for purchase. Discussions about the car’s production plan were made at the automaker’s annual general meeting.
The X Convertible feature a long hood and short deck with an arcing body line, flared wheel arches, and the trademark Genesis split lights front and rear. As a halo model for the Hyundai Group-owned luxury carmaker, it expresses what’s possible from the premium marquee. The estimated price of the car is between $200,000-$300,000, generating plenty of attention and anticipation for the vehicle.
Chairman of the Genesis National Dealer Advisory Council Peter Lanzavecchia commented, “I guarantee we’re going see a lot of Bentley Continental convertible trade-ins on [the X Convertible] when it comes to our showrooms.” With the Genesis X Convertible, the premium car market is one step closer to a sleek and luxurious convertible, and it’s now just a matter of time before these cars begin appearing in showrooms.
