E9 Brewing Co. Voted Best Brewery in Pierce County

In a recent TNT Diner Best Brewery poll, E9 Brewing Co. was voted as the best brewery in Pierce County, taking home 44 percent of more than 1,200 tallies. Brewer Shane Johns has developed one of the nation's most prominent barrel-aged and sour programs, contributing to the brewery's expansive catalog dating back to 1995 on Sixth Avenue. E9 Brewing Co. was established in 1995 and expanded to Tacoma's historic brewery district in 2019, making it the oldest craft brewery in Tacoma. 7 Seas Brewing, known for its expansive production facility in Tacoma, landed second place with 13 percent of tallies. Sumner's Top Down Brewing secured the third spot with 8 percent of tallies, indicating the importance of breweries as community anchors. Following them, Narrows Brewing in Tacoma and North 47 Brewing in Browns Point landed fourth and fifth place, respectively. Other breweries that rounded out the Top 10 include Odd Otter, Sig, Wet Coast, Camp Colvos, and Dystopian State. Over two dozen Pierce County breweries split the rest of the votes, highlighting the strength of brewery allegiances.
