Elijah Garcia, the 19-year-old middleweight contender, won the Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia undercard against Kevin Salgado by unanimous decision in a 10-round bout in Las Vegas. Salgado had a strong start, outworking Garcia in the first three rounds with hard, accurate body shots. Garcia picked up his pace in round four, controlling the rest of the fight and pulling away on the cards. Although Salgado lost a point in round seven due to repeated low blows, it did not factor into the decision.
