Could Dawn Staley be the next head coach for Temple's men's basketball team?

Speculation has been growing ever since former Temple player Aaron McKie resigned as the Owls' coach earlier this month. CBS Sports analyst Seth Davis even went as far as suggesting on Twitter that Staley, who currently coaches South Carolina's women's basketball team, would be the perfect replacement for McKie. However, the suggestion was met with heavy opposition from musician Darius Rucker, who called it an "awful take," and many South Carolina and women's basketball fans. Staley, a former WNBA star and three-time Olympic gold medalist, has had a remarkable career as a coach, according to her record. She led South Carolina to two national championships, has been named Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year three times, and currently earns more than $3 million a year, making her the highest-paid coach in women's college basketball. It remains to be seen whether Staley would consider leaving South Carolina, where she has built a dynasty, to coach Temple, which would be a step down for her, according to some critics. Nevertheless, the speculation and debate continue.
