However, the euphoria of Puerto Rico's advancement to the quarterfinals quickly dissipated after star pitcher Edwin Diaz, of the New York Mets, suffered a terrifying injury in the post-victory celebration.
As Diaz rose to celebrate with his teammates, his right knee suddenly buckled, leaving him writhing in pain on the ground.
