Miami Heat's guard, Tyler Herro, will be out for a minimum of six weeks due to his hand injury, according to an official statement released by the team. Herro underwent successful surgery on his shooting hand after breaking his fingers during Game 1 of the first-round playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks. Although Herro was initially given a four-to-six-week timeline, his recent surgery has confirmed a minimum of six weeks of recovery. As a result, the Heat would have to reach the NBA Finals for the sixth man of the year award winner to suit up again this season.
In Herro’s absence, the Heat is expected to rely more on Goran Dragic, Kendrick Nunn, and the newly signed G League player, Marcus Garrett. Herro averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game during the 2022-23 regular season. The Heat currently trails the Bucks in their playoff series after losing Game 2, with the next two games set to take place in Miami.
