Residents in Farmersburg and the entire Miami Valley are on high alert as the National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for parts of Indiana and Illinois and a Wind Advisory for the entire area. Earlier in the day, a confirmed tornado touched down in Champaign County, Illinois. By 2 pm EST, the Tornado Watch was cancelled. A wind advisory still remains in effect for the entire area until 7 pm EST, which includes the counties of Vermillion, Fountain, Parke, Clay, Vigo, Owen, Putnam, Warren, Montgomery, Belmont, Monroe, Noble, Guernsey and Southeastern Ohio.
The Storm Prediction Center has outlined Southeastern Ohio in a Tornado Watch, which is set to expire at 7 pm this evening. This means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes and severe thunderstorms within the outlined watch area. Those in the area should be cautious and keep an eye out for threatening weather
