Two Wisconsin Police Officers Killed During Traffic Stop

Two police officers in Wisconsin were killed on Saturday during a traffic stop, as per the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ). A Chetek police officer carried out a traffic stop in Cameron, Wisconsin, when gunfire was exchanged with the suspect, killing the officer along with a Cameron police official. The other person involved in the incident was transported to a hospital, where they later died due to their injuries. The DOJ declared that there is no threat to the public after the incident. The Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation, along with the other law enforcement agencies, is leading the investigation. It is still unclear why the suspect engaged in gunfire with the two officers, and there has been no information about the identities of the victims or the suspect so far. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers expressed his condolences and asked the public to join him in paying tribute to the two brave officers. The incident has left the communities of Chetek and Cameron in mourning.
