Team USA and Puerto Rico have secured spots in the quarterfinals, while Japan and Cuba are also through to the semifinals after dominating their respective groups. Mexico is also in the quarterfinals, with Randy Arozarena's five-run explosion against Canada clinching them a spot in the next round.
The tournament is now a single-elimination bracket culminating with the final on Tuesday, March 21. Mexico faces Puerto Rico in Miami, and Team USA takes on Venezuela. Japan and Cuba, who won over Italy and Australia respectively, will face-off in the semifinals in Tokyo.
Arozarena, who acquired Mexican citizenship last year, has been instrumental in Mexico's run so far. After going 7 for 14
