59 Dead as Greece Grieves Train Crash Tragedy

Greece is in shock as the death toll of Tuesday's horrific train crash near Larissa continues to rise. The collision between a passenger train and a freight train caused at least 59 deaths, with many of the victims university students. The disaster has prompted a national three-day mourning period, as well as the resignation of the country's transportation minister.

Railway workers have walked off their jobs and protests have sparked in response to the tragedy. The main railworkers union is demanding to meet with the newly appointed transport minister to ensure that such a tragedy can never happen again. The cause of the crash is being attributed to faulty signalling and maintenance issues, two issues that union officials have voiced concerns about for years.
