Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito has disclosed that he might have a pretty good idea of who leaked the draft of the abortion opinion which overturned the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, an interview with Wall Street Journal opinion writers published last Friday revealed. However, he doesn't have sufficient evidence to name the person. The leaked draft, which was published in May last year by POLITICO, indicated that the Court would revoke the constitutional right to abortion established by Roe v. Wade. The Court officially revoked abortion rights in June, infuriating pro-choice citizens and sparking a lot of allegations. Republicans at the time claimed without any evidence that someone on the political left had leaked the opinion in order to prevent it from becoming law. Following a months-long investigation, the Supreme Court Marshal said that it lacked sufficient evidence to pinpoint the person who leaked the document or how the draft opinion ended up with POLITICO. Alito claimed that the leak made the justices who signed the draft opinion "targets of assassination."
