No. 8 Kansas’ men’s basketball team was in a tight spot coming into Monday night’s Big 12 conference matchup against the No. 5 Texas Longhorns, two games behind them in the conference standings. But to the delight of their Fans at Allen Fieldhouse, they were able to secure the 88-80 win – a must-win game.
The Jayhawks stepped up as a team with eight available scholarship players, as the rest of the roster was injured. Dajuan Harris had a career night with 17 points, a career-high six rebounds, five assists, and a career-high-tying four steals. Gradey Dick had 21, Kevin McCullar 16 (10-of-13 from the line) and Joseph Yesufu 14 off the bench. To make up for the below-average night from leading scorer Jalen Wilson, KJ Adams had 10 points.
