Duxbury Mother Allegedly Kills Two Children in Apparent Suicide Attempt

Tuesday evening in Duxbury, a woman allegedly killed two of her small children before attempting to take her own life, Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz said. Police received a 911 call from a man arriving at his home who reported a suicide attempt of a woman jumping out of a window.

Upon arriving at 47 Summer St., responders found a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy unconscious and showing signs of trauma. First responders then located the woman, who had been attempting a suicide by jumping out the window of the house. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The two children were pronounced dead at a hospital, while an eight-month-old who was also found in the house was flown to a Boston trauma center and remains in treatment.

"This is an unimaginable, senseless tragedy," said Cruz at a press briefing. He also noted that everyone found in the home appears to be related. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities not yet releasing identities of those involved.
