What is behind the gruesome deaths of six cattle in Texas?

Texas law enforcement officials are trying to discover who, or what, was responsible for slaughtering six cows found dead and with their genitalia, tongues and anuses removed along the Texas State Highway. Bodies were discovered in three counties - Madison, Brazos and Robertson. A "straight, clean cut, with apparent precision had been made to remove the hide around the cow's mouth", the Madison County Sheriff's Office said in a statement. At every scene no predators or birds appeared to scavenge the remains, indicating that death had possibly occurred several weeks before the discovery of the bodies. There were no blood spills or signs of struggle and no footprints or tire tracks. The cause of death remains unknown. Law enforcement officials asked anyone with information to come forward, adding that similar incidents had occurred elsewhere in the US.
