The University of Oklahoma in Norman was put on lockdown following reports of an "active shooter" on campus. At around 9:24 p.m. on Friday, the university sent an emergency alert to students, stating that there was an active shooter at the Van Vleet Oval and urging them to take immediate action. An update at 9:46 p.m. warned people to avoid the South Oval area and to shelter in place, citing "possible shots fired." Around 10:04 p.m., a similar warning was shared. While police received calls of shots being fired on the campus, nothing has been found so far, according to KOTV. Law enforcement officers are working hard to secure the scene, and details will be released as soon as they are available. The University of Oklahoma Police Department is investigating the case.
