Dramatic Halftime Show: Grizzlies, Ex-NFL Star Shannon Sharpe Entertainment Fans

Tempers flared at Crypto.com Arena on Friday night as a verbal altercation between the Memphis Grizzlies, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe, and Ja Morant's father, Tee Morant, broke out just after the second quarter buzzer signaled halftime of the Lakers-Grizzlies game. Referees and security stepped in, pulling several Grizzlies players away, including Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, Ja Morant, and Tee Morant.

Sharpe, a vocal fan of NBA star LeBron James, told ESPN that Brooks had taken offense at Sharpe's comment that he was too small to guard James. After exchanging curses, Sharpe was escorted by security off the court, though he did return to his seat after the third quarter began.

Dillon Brooks, who ended up fouling out of the game with 9 points, later said it was inappropriate for Sharpe to have been allowed to stay at the arena after the altercation, saying, "A regular pedestrian like him? No."

The matchup eventually resulted in a 122-121 Lakers win, ending the Grizzlies 11-game winning streak. Sharpe, Brooks and the Morants didn't provide any further comments on the situation. However, it's clear that they provided a halftime show like no other.
