3 Killed, 5 Wounded in Mass Shooting on Michigan State's Campus

On Monday evening, a horrific incident unfolded at Michigan State University's campus. Three people were killed, and five were injured, some with life-threatening injuries, in a shooting that occurred in a university academic building and the student union. The shooter, a 43-year-old man with no affiliations to the school, later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Children and teens around campus found themselves in shock and terror - the university alerting its students to shelter in place at 8:18PM as police responded to reports of gunfire at two locations. Interim Deputy Chief of MSU Police, Chris Rozman, gave a statement: "This truly has been a nightmare we are living tonight… We have no idea why he came to campus to do this tonight".

Victim identities have not been released at this time, and the motive for the shooting is still unknown
