Australia's Todd Murphy created a dream debut on Friday with a five-wicket haul against India at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. His consistent line and length and the right speed of his bowling, allowed him to take 5/82 in India's first innings, making him the 17th Australian bowler and sixth spinner to achieve a fifer on debut. Murphy's achievement was a huge success for Australia and helps limit India's total to 321/7 at the end of Day 2.

Murphy kept his feet on the ground and spoke of his surprise at being selected for the tour considering he had been preparing for club cricket in Darwin mere months prior.
