Who Were the Victims of the Nashville School Shooting?

Cindy Peak, a substitute teacher who was killed during the shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, was remembered as a devoted mother, wife, and teacher who invested her life fully in the encouragement of others. Peak was one of six people killed during the shooting at the private Christian school, which was carried out by a former student of the school. The other victims were school head Katherine Koonce, school custodian Mike Hill, and three students - Hallie Scruggs, William Kinney, and Evelyn Dieckhaus, all aged nine. A service was held at Christ Presbyterian Church to celebrate Peak's life, with photos of special moments with her children, decorating the church. Peak's husband referred to her as a hero and also shared how much she loved her children. The incident has fueled discussions on gun control measures in the state, as thousands of people recently protested at the State Capitol in Nashville to demand gun control measures after the shooting. The protests were likened to an insurrection by state Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton.
