As the fourth round of FA Cup fixtures took place, teams from the Premier League to League Two squared up in an exciting showing of football. Blackburn and Birmingham managed an exciting 1-1 draw, while Leicester and Watford were evenly matched in a penalty shoot-out win for Leicester. Goals galore highlighted this round of matches with Gavan Holohan leading the way in Grimsby's 1-0 win against Luton, and Duncan Culley's hat-trick in Walthamstow's 3-0 win against Shrewsbury. Southampton made a statement, defeating Blackpool 1-0, and Scott Brown's effort for Hibernian boosted them to a 3-0 against Aberdeen.
The excitement was not limited to the field, however. In his pre-match press conference, Marco Silva of Fulham was determined to make their fourth round match against Sunderland a success, stated that any players not taking it seriously would not play against Chelsea the following week. Additionally, former Fulham starlet and current Sunderland player, Luke Roberts, was looking forward to his return to Craven Cottage, saying "I loved my time at Fulham."
The fifth round of ties will be announced on Monday, with many awaiting the outcome. The last two rounds of the FA Cup have been incredibly competitive and with much at stake, many are looking forward to another exciting round.
