Is China planning a blockade of Taiwan? Lindsey Graham sounds the alarm

On Sunday, Senator Lindsey Graham warned that China could be setting the stage for a blockade of Taiwan, possibly as part of its effort to expand its global influence. Graham urged the US to "up our game" in the region, suggesting measures such as increasing training and providing F-16 jets to Taiwanese forces. China has long claimed Taiwan as its province, but its proximity makes it a key geopolitical area that the US has been keen to protect, particularly given Taiwan's production of over 90% of the world's most advanced semiconductors. However, tensions have risen in the region recently, with China conducting military drills close to the island and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-Wen meeting with US House foreign policy figures. These moves were met with criticism by Chinese officials, who have now imposed sanctions on both organizations that hosted Tsai during her US trip.
