Congressman George Santos is facing multiple investigations from local, state, and federal authorities, including an inquiry led by the House Committee on Ethics. Last week, the committee announced the formation of an investigative subcommittee to investigate Santos for potential unlawful activity, inadequate disclosure in statements filed to the House, violations of federal conflict of interest laws, and sexual misconduct towards people seeking employment in his congressional office.
The subcommittee is chaired by Rep. David Joyce (R-Ohio) and Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA) is the ranking Democrat. Reps. John Rutherford (R-FL) and Glenn Ivey (D-MD) are also members of the committee.
In response, a spokesperson for Santos referenced a tweet to his verified Twitter account, which stated he is "fully cooperating" with the inquiry.
