Allegedly leaked Pentagon documents suggest so. The documents were posted on social media platforms including Discord, Telegram, and Twitter and reportedly contained U.S. assessments of the war in Ukraine, as well as intelligence on diplomatic allies. At least two of the documents revealed internal discussions among South Korea's officials concerning the U.S. pressuring the East Asian nation to help supply weapons to Ukraine amid Seoul's hesitancy. The information was reportedly based in part on intercepted communication signals. South Korea has demanded that the U.S. takes appropriate measures once the investigation into leaked Pentagon documents detailing U.S. intelligence has concluded. A South Korean senior government official has also cast doubt on the legitimacy of the documents, saying that there are suggestions that some of the information might be fabricated, and a senior U.S. official has also said that some of the documents may have been altered. The allegations surfaced as South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol prepares for a state visit to the White House later this month.
