Phoenix Suns Coach Monty Williams lambasted officials after the team's 122-111 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Williams cited the massive free throw disparity between the two teams, as the Lakers were awarded 46 free throws compared to the Suns' 20. The disparity resulted in a 21-point advantage for Los Angeles at the foul line. Williams stated that unfair officiating has been a pattern against his team in recent games and expressed exasperation at not receiving the same calls as other teams.
Suns star Devin Booker scored 25 of his game-high 33 points in the second half, but his team still was called for 31 personal fouls for the second straight game. Chris Paul added 18 points for Phoenix, while Anthony Davis scored 27 points, and D'Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves each scored 25 in the Lakers' victory. After losing five of their past six games, the Suns look to rebound against the Sacramento Kings on Friday.
