Biden Delivers Comprehensive State of the Union, Affirms Commitment to Union Rights

President Biden delivered an impressive State of the Union address on Tuesday, his first since taking office. While some Republican hecklers tried to disrupt the event, Biden managed to remain in control while showing his acumen as a statesman. Biden set the tone by graciously recognizing his opponents and included Republicans in describing recent legislative accomplishments. He then went on to list his plans to "finish the job" economically, focused on providing employment, limiting fees, and making healthcare affordable.

Biden also recognized the importance of union rights and the power of organized labor. He paid tribute to Saria Gwin-Maye, a member of Ironworkers Local 44, and mentioned the Protecting the Right to Organize Act which seeks to make it easier for workers to form unions. With a focus on the labor movement, Biden then travelled to Wisconsin the following day to speak with members of the Laborers' International
