16 year-old Warren Zaire-Emery will make history Tuesday night when he starts for Paris Saint-Germain as the youngest player ever to start a Champions League knockout game. As PSG battle Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes, Zaire-Emery will have all eyes on him as he becomes the first 2006-born player to make the Champions League starting lineup.
Since becoming the youngest PSG player to ever start a match when he made his debut against Chateauroux in a Coupe de France game, Zaire-Emery has been compared to Yaya Toure for his dynamic and box-to-box style of play. The French midfielder credits his position in the middle of the field for bridging the gap between defence and attack, while also emphasising his enjoyment of defending and making projections in order to play his role well.
