Is Gov. DeSantis wasting time and resources fighting against Disney?

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is still embroiled in a series of legal battles with Walt Disney Co., over the special governing status of the Reedy Creek Improvement District in Florida, which regulates the land occupied by Disney's Florida theme parks. DeSantis had signed a bill in February, stripping some of the district's powers and giving him the authority to appoint members of its new board. However, Disney outmaneuvered the governor by approving an agreement the day before the vote that essentially gave the company free rein over Reedy Creek's developments. DeSantis' office claims that Disney was actively trying to keep the agreement from being disclosed to the public, but Disney states that all agreements were approved in compliance with Florida's Government in the Sunshine law. The fight between the two parties has attracted national attention and could potentially harm Florida's business reputation. Critics argue that DeSantis should drop his retaliation campaign against Disney and focus on more pressing issues affecting Florida's residents.
