LAVERNE & SHIRLEY STAR CINDY WILLIAMS DIES AT 75

Cindy Williams, the beloved star of the classic sitcom "Laverne & Shirley," died Wednesday in Los Angeles at age 75 after a short illness, her family confirmed Monday. "Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege," her children Zak and Emily Hudson said in a statement. Williams starred opposite Penny Marshall's Laverne for eight seasons from 1976-83 and the show is remembered for its iconic opening theme song. She also starred in hit films "American Graffiti" and "The Conversation." Williams leaves behind a legacy of laughter and joy that will outlive her.
