Drive-By Shooting Leaves Ten Injured in Lakeland

Late Monday afternoon, a dark blue sedan with tinted windows and a temporary tag drove up to a group of people near Iowa Avenue North and Plum Street in Lakeland, Florida. The car slowed as it approached the group, then all four windows rolled down and shots were fired in their direction. Two people were critically injured, and the other eight had non-life-threatening injuries. The shooters were in the car with four total and fled the area before officers arrived.

The victims ranged from 20 to 35 years old and found marijuana at the crime scene, leading Police Chief Sam Taylor to belief drug sales were taking place. Chief Taylor stated, "I've been here 34 years,
