A Chinese university has made headlines recently with a revolutionary invention- a “kissing device” intended to provide long-distance couples with a comedic and innovative way to still share intimate moments. Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology has patented the invention, which came out of the long-distance struggle of inventor Jiang Zhongli, hoping the device would help lovers experience the “authentic feeling of kissing each other.”

The device is equipped with a mouth-shaped module to position the two “lovers” on either side, with pressure sensors and cutting-edge technology inside to transfer the movements and force of the kiss. It links to the phone via Bluetooth and app. Through plugging the phone into the device, the kisser can gain access to the device and their partner.
