Tiger Woods has turned heads by sporting FootJoy Premiere Packard golf shoes at the Masters tournament for the second year in a row, instead of Nike shoes he has long been associated with. Last year, the 15-time major winner explained how his limited mobility following injuries he sustained in a 2021 car accident in Los Angeles compelled him to seek different shoes. Woods' car accident injuries also explained his need for more stability. His choice of footwear turned heads on social media, with fans reacting to his decision by criticising or praising it. Notably, Woods still wears Nike clothes despite turning to FootJoy for his shoes. In April last year, Nike stated that they "will work with him to meet his new needs" after the athlete opted for a different product. Reasons for Nike’s silence over their plans for Woods’ shoes this year, or if the two parties were even working together, are unknown. Whether Woods continues wearing FootJoy shoes following his Master’s appearance remains to be seen.
