Late Saturday night, the second floor of an apartment building under the name Elm by Traverse Commons collapsed, leading to a dozen injuries. The incident occurred in Indiana County, White Township, in west central Pennsylvania, which is located around 66 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The place is advertised as off-campus housing for Indiana University of Pennsylvania students, but it is not yet known if any of the affected individuals were students. Details of their conditions have not yet been determined, other than injuries ranging from minor to severe, as they were treated on the scene of the accident. The ones with severe injuries were taken to a nearby hospital for additional treatment. State police and Indiana Fire Association responded to the scene; the number of people inside the apartment at the time of the collapse is not clear. An investigation is currently underway to establish the trigger for the incident.
