On Monday evening, tragedy struck the Michigan State University campus in East Lansing, Mich. when 43-year-old Anthony McRae opened fire on students, leaving three dead and five injured.
Recently released court records show that McRae had previous felony charges for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. He later pled guilty to a misdemeanor for possession of a loaded firearm and completed 18 months of probation, which he was discharged from in May 2021.
McRae's father, Michael, reported that his son was increasingly reclusive and bitter after the death of his mother, Linda, further expressing that his son had grown “evil angry” and had “let himself go,” with his teeth falling out and hair uncut - resembling a “wolf man.” He reported that McRae had obtained another gun, but when questioned, McRae denied owning one.
