What happened in the Oklahoma murder-suicide case?

On Monday, seven bodies were found at a rural Oklahoma property. Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice confirmed that Jesse McFadden, a known sex offender, appeared to be among the dead. On Wednesday, authorities announced that McFadden shot six people in the head before turning the gun on himself, in what is believed to be a murder-suicide. Victims include Ivy Webster and Brittany Brewer, both of whom had been reported missing and in danger since Sunday night, and Holly Guess and her three children. Police have not identified the other unidentified victims. McFadden had spent 16 years in prison and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday for his trial on charges of soliciting child pornography. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reports that all of the victims died from apparent gunshot wounds. The firearm used was a 9 mm handgun purchased by Holly McFadden in January 2022. It remains unclear when the killings occurred. McFadden's family has revealed that he was a "con man" and a "master manipulator."
