Tucker Carlson's Racist Comment Leads to Firing from Fox News

Text messages obtained from redacted court filings in the Dominion Voting Systems case revealed that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a racist comment and expressed support for a mob of Trump supporters beating up a person. According to the New York Times, Carlson wrote, “I really wanted them to hurt the kid. I could taste it,” while watching a video of Trump supporters attacking an Antifa member. Carlson went on to explain that watching videos of fights between political opponents increased his apathy toward violence. Fox News' board of directors reportedly found the message alarming, prompting Carlson's firing. The announcement of Carlson’s departure from the network followed a settlement between Fox News and Dominion for $787.5 million over the network's false reporting of election lies. Carlson had also been accused of sexist behavior by his former top booker, Abby Grossberg.
