General Pervez Musharraf’s Death Leaves Difficult Legacy Behind

On Sunday, the death of former Pakistan Army Chief and President General Pervez Musharraf was confirmed by Pakistan’s consulate in Dubai and embassy in Abu Dhabi. The 79-year-old suffered from a rare disease, amyloidosis, for the last several years and passed away in a hospital in Dubai on Sunday morning.

Since the news of his sudden demise, condolences have been pouring in from across the country as well as from abroad. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad and all the services chiefs expressed their heartfelt condolences while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared Musharraf a “great person” and extended his sympathies to the grieving family.
