Relativity Space Launches World's First 3D-Printed Rocket, Terra 1

This Wednesday, Relativity Space became the first company to launch the world's first 3D-printed rocket. The 35-meter tall Terra 1, nicknamed "Good Luck Have Fun", was blasted off from the United States Space Force's Cape Canaveral launch pad. The company estimates it will take 60 days for them to build a rocket from scratch in the future, and this launch is a first step in that direction.

Three hours prior to the launch, a hold was implemented before the Terra 1 was launched successfully at 2:40 PM. The rocket is primarily composed of an aluminum alloy and is designed to be an inexpensive form of launch technology. After the first successful launch, the company has plans to put a printer on the moon and Mars to print mission parts for spacecraft without requiring them to be sent from Earth.
