Biden's SOTU Address Brings Out Republican Disunity

In his State of the Union address Tuesday night, President Joe Biden made a strong statement of Democratic Party priorities while challenging Republicans to support them. Biden highlighted issues like raising the debt ceiling, cutting taxes to help middle-class Americans, and protecting Social Security and Medicare. Republicans in the chamber did not respond well to the President's words, responding with jeers, heckling and shouting. Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy repeatedly tried to shush the GOP members, to no avail.

Biden seemed to welcome the engagement, standing firm in calling for Republican support on these issues.
