America eagerly awaits Punxsutawney Phil's Groundhog Day prediction each year and this year is no different. On February 1, Phil made his 137th prediction and thousands of people turned up in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to be present for the special occasion.
Phil's "inner circle" gathered at Gobbler's Knob to learn if the groundhog saw its shadow or not. According to legends, if Phil sees his shadow, then six more weeks of winter is on its way. If he does not, then spring might come early. It came to no surprise that this year's prediction stated six more weeks of winter.
