Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis broke his silence Monday on former President Donald Trump's expected indictment by a Manhattan grand jury, taking aim at liberal megadonor George Soros and criticizing the district attorney who is pursuing the case. DeSantis accused Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg of “pursuing a political agenda” and called him a “Soros-funded prosecutor.”
The Republican governor declared Monday he had “no interest in getting involved in some manufactured circus” and joked that he wasn’t sure what goes into paying hush money to a porn star. DeSantis, who appears to be a potential 2024 presidential candidate, also poked fun at the situation Trump has found himself in, reiterating the salacious allegations surrounding the case.
